Today we took a couple of hours break from the more wearying aspects of life and started our Christmas shopping! Thanks to those who have donated, we have fifteen of the children at GSH fully sponsored for Christmas gifts and it looks like we'll be able to get them some pretty fun things with that amount of money. The only downside to buying cheap clothes on the streets? Hand washing 36 shirts and sweatshirts to get rid of the street smell. There's a reason we shop early!
There are still three more children and three staff who need to be sponsored - at $10 each we are hoping to get them each a shirt, sweatshirt, socks, book and a bag of treats. With the clothes and book coming to only about $5 per child, looks like we'll have enough to buy them some fun accessories as well! Stay tuned for our next shopping installment...I love Christmas!
