We are in the midst of Ganpati, a 10 day festival that will end next Wedneday. It kicks off about two months of festivals and holidays. During these days, Ganesh statues are put up on every corner and worship happens morning and night. On the final day, people form parades to transport the idols to the nearest body of water. It is a much loved and celebrated festival here in Maharashtra, being the 'holy city' and all, though not as big a deal all over India.

| One of MANY Ganesh statues across the city, on nearly every corner. This was after a late afternoon monsoon storm, so the roads were slightly flooded. |
